Jan Frich New Chairman of the NorTrials Board
The CEO of South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority, Terje Rootwelt, is handing over the position of Chairman of the NorTrials Board to the CEO of Central Norway Regional Health Authority, Jan Frich.

Terje Rootwelt has been the chairman since NorTrials was established in 2022, leading the initiative with a steady hand. From this summer, Jan Frich has taken over the role, bringing with him a solid and relevant background for the position. He is a former researcher in neurology, Professor II at the University of Oslo, and has held leadership positions at South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority, where he was Deputy CEO and Director of Research and Innovation. He was CEO at Diakonhjemmet Hospital in Oslo until he assumed the role of CEO at Central Norway Regional Health Authority in September 2024.
Frich was also involved in the establishment of NorTrials, so he has both in-depth knowledge of the initiative and the necessary expertise to further develop efforts to make Norway an even more attractive destination for clinical trials.
"I look forward to contributing to strengthening the community around NorTrials, so that more patients can participate in the testing of new treatments and we can attract more clinical trials to Norway," says Frich.
