Roadmap for the Healthcare Industry
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries and the Ministry of Health and Care Services presented their new Roadmap for the Healthcare Industry on 23 August.
The roadmap (in Norwegian) describes clinical trials as a prerequisite for the development of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, because they contribute to increased knowledge and the development of competence environments. The government is following up on the National Action Plan for Clinical Trials (2021 – 2025), which aims to increase the number of clinical trials in Norwegian hospitals by 15 per cent annually. In order to achieve this goal, the healthcare industry must allocate more trials to Norway.
The roadmap presents NorTrials as "the flagship of the investment in industry-initiated clinical trials".
